Soy candle wax has what’s called a memory. That means that when you burn a soy candle and then extinguish it, the next time you burn it, the soy candle wax will melt across as far as it did the first time.
This is why it is so important to allow soy candles to burn all the way across to the edge of the container the first time you burn it before putting it out. This ensures that your soy candle does not “tunnel” as it burns, leaving wax along the sides of the container. A good rule of thumb is to burn your candle 1hr for every inch wide that the candle is. So if you have a 3inch wide soy candle, you may need to burn it for at least 3 hours for a good melt pool.
Speaking of melt pools…
This is where the scent is in scented soy candles. A good melt pool will give off the best fragrance throw.
Another tip is to keep your soy candles away from drafts to prevent smoking and soot. Soy candles produce little to no soot when burned properly, but any candle will smoke and create soot if exposed to too much air, which is what happens if there is a draft. Keeping your wick trimmed to about 1/4in. will also keep your soy candles from smoking and causing soot. Also, no soy wax is ever wasted, any soy wax left around the edges when your candle has burned fully can be scraped out & pop it into your burner as a melt, so no waste ever with Soy candles!!

Soy wax candles are becoming a popular alternative to paraffin wax candles because they are made from plant oils which are natural, biodegradable and renewable and so are a lot more environmentally friendly compared to other candles that use petroleum in their wax.
Paraffin can contain dangerous toxins and carcinogens such as benzene, acetone, lead & mercury when burned.Paraffin burns at a higher temperature meaning that is burns faster, it is not water soluble or biodegradable.
Soy wax burns up to 30%-50% longer than paraffin wax. Soy candles produce about 90% less soot than paraffin candles, therefore the burning of soy candles does not increase the CO2 level in the atmosphere like paraffin candles can.Soy wax cleans up with hot soapy water.

Follow these tips to ensure excellent and safe scent throw.
Place your oil burner in a safe, stable situation, away from drafts and anything flammable and also well out of the reach of children.
Put your melt in the top of your dry oil burner – do not add water.
Light a plain unscented tea light candle in the base of the oil burner and allow the wax to melt – when melted the wonderful aroma of the melt will be released into the room.
Don’t forget to extinguish the tea light candle when leaving the room, never leave it unattended or within reach of children.
The heat of the tea light flame melts the wax of the melt, releasing the fragrance. The fragrance in each small melt lasts for approximately 8 hours & large melts lasts for approximately 16 hours

Ensure the oil burner dish is dry and clean.
Always check your oil burner for any cracks before use.
Light a tea light candle and place it underneath the dish where the wax melt will be placed.
Do not add water or oils to the dish when using a melt.
Do not try to light the melt directly.
Once the tea light is extinguished the melt will harden.
You can either re-use the melt or If you want to change to another fragrance, by placing a knife under one of the edges of the wax and you will find the wax usually pops out or it might take a gentle scrape with the knife to remove from the burner (use caution not to damage the top of the oil burner).
The Burner can then be washed in warm soapy water & dried fully before a new melt is placed in the burner for use.
